Such a great afternoon! My delivery of new winter shoes conjured up some warm children's feet and made children's hearts light up...
The meeting point was at the ZuvAHRsicht in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler. Natalie Reuscher from ZuvAHRsicht and I were moved to tears by the wish lists that came back from our Christmas*Wish Tree campaign. Most of the children wished for warm winter shoes instead of toys. We then immediately decided that all the children's feet needed to be fitted with warm winter shoes.
The wish list has been redistributed and is now used exclusively for children's toys that will bring joy and bring a sparkle back into children's eyes. None of us had suspected that so many people were still without sufficient winter clothing.
Fortuna hilft e.V. was able to realise the project with the support ofm Parityn Wohlfahrtsverband , Aktion Deutschland Hilft and Volksbank Mittelhessen donated warm winter shoes and winter hats with gloves for a total of 70 children. The children can now fill out their wish lists with warm feet and look forward to what the Christmas angel will soon bring.
The winter shoes for children are new, which was important to us after we spoke to an orthopaedist who explained to us how important it is that children's shoes should fit properly and above all not be too tight, especially during the growth phase. This is because every foot has a different surface area and the growing feet are then misaligned from their predecessors.
