It will soon be the second anniversary of the 2021 flood disaster.
The health consequences of injuries, skin and respiratory diseases as well as psychological stress are still clearly noticeable in the animals that were rescued. We have already achieved a great deal - thanks to incredible helpers and donors, we have been able to help cover veterinary costs and provide medical care ranging from urgently needed medication to operations and follow-up treatment.
With our current brine project, we are also supporting horses that fought for their lives in the floods and swallowed contaminated water.
Many affected pet owners have still not got back on their feet financially and are still struggling to get through their long-term illnesses, some of them in poor health themselves. The recurring veterinary costs for protracted and chronic illnesses are a major burden, and we would like to continue to support you in this area. Thanks to great vets, practitioners and companies, some of whom grant us discounts, we can use the donations in a targeted manner and help where it is really needed. Every euro counts for us and the people affected, who often suffer greatly from not being able to cope financially on their own.
