The elderly gentleman and his #hand live in the direct neighbourhood of the kindergarten where we rebuilt the playground. So it was also badly affected by the flood. Both survived. However, his very old and modest house with few belongings was destroyed. There is no insurance and he can barely make ends meet on his small pension. He sleeps in a damp room as there are no alternative accommodation options. His His dog Meda is the only family he still has. He was in tears when he saw the food for his "mouse" (as he affectionately calls her) and we were also able to tell him that we would be covering the upcoming operation. A warm basket for the dog is already on its way, as hers has been swept away by the floods.

Meda is an exuberant, happy dog. She especially loves children and is happy about everyone who comes. She really beams all over her face. A "good-humoured" furry heart that makes everyone smile. This makes it all the more important that we support Meda here so that she can continue to be an important support for her owner. "Without Meda, I would have no reason to get up."
