Gaby Hammer tells us about a lovely afternoon with the kids from the painting circus in Schleiden-Gemünd:
"I had lots of ideas with me today and also the right materials: tree discs, wooden sticks, shoe boxes, clothes pegs, fairy lights and, of course, a new filling for the hot glue gun.
Off we went!
My aim today was for the children to come up with their own creations and learn something about working with different materials: "How can look like my little house?" Painted: does that also cover it? Or covered with colourful paper, and what will work as decoration? The idea was to try things out, learn how to work with the materials and gain experience. What is the easiest way to stick a large surface? Should I measure beforehand and how does that actually work? The focus was less on "perfection" and more on experience, which sometimes requires concentration and patience! Therefore: if you don't like it, how can you change it so that you like it better - in the worst case: redo it.
The icing on the cake was the lighting!
The children really liked their little houses and learnt a lot today - just "learning by doing" without aiming for perfection, but simply having fun and enjoying themselves. Oh ... and a new toy as well as their first attempts at napkin technology were also included.
See you soon here at the Malzirkus and thank you very much for this great opportunity!
The results are beautiful, unique and fantastic creations. You can really see how much fun and enthusiasm the children had. Thank you so much, dear Gaby, for sharing this with us.
