The painting circus in Ahrweiler was transformed into a small printing workshop! Under the guidance of Sarah Uessem, the children explored the traces that can be left behind with everyday objects and natural materials.
She reports:
"They tried out everything the treasure trove had to offer: stones, twigs, buttons, sponges, toilet rolls, corks, Duplo, ice-cream sticks, shells and much more. And what does it actually look like when you drive a toy car through paint and use it to leaves traces? Curiosity was aroused. And of course, everyone also has something to print on their body: their own hands! The highlight of the printing workshop was making your own stamp out of foam rubber and wooden blocks. The stamps were designed in a concentrated and well-considered manner and of course tried out straight away. Printing with a wide variety of objects stimulates the imagination, supports fine motor skills and promotes spatial visualisation. The afternoon together ended with a fantastic play of colours in the sky above the painting circus!"
That looks like a lot of creative fun. Thank you very much, dear Sarah.
