An exciting, fantastic week in Gemünd comes to an end, as today was the closing party of our "Holidays in the Land of Elves and Goblins" holiday. We were particularly pleased that Ingo Pfennings, the mayor of City of Schleidenwho did not miss the opportunity to be there again. His visit has become a wonderful tradition for us all, thank you very much, we are already looking forward to the next reunion!
Our dear RebeccaMarcel Müller summarises the exciting week together:
"We experienced and learnt a lot together! We built a fantastic leprechaun village, sewed and forged leprechaun hats and got up to lots of mischief.

In our tent city, we made fantastic hair wreaths, mobiles and even magic wands.
Today we rounded off the week with a treasure hunt and the children performed the goblin and elf dances they had rehearsed for their parents.
Unfortunately, the weather didn't play along at the end and when it rained, some of the children's memories of the flood came flooding back. Individual support was very important to us here, as the children received support from our team when needed, both in the group and in individual discussions in the painting circus retreat.
Later on, we simply stuck our tongues out at the stupid rain to lighten the situation and the children's mood suddenly lifted again.
We received a lot of encouragement and gratitude from the parents. That touched us so much, thank you very much! It wasn't easy for us all to say goodbye and we're really looking forward to the next one."
We would like to say a big thank you to our fantastic painting circus team around Rebecca and Gaby Hammerto our fantastic Fabulix the storyteller with their wonderful team and to all our great supporters. We are especially grateful for the strong partners at our side who make it possible: Children's aid organisation Global-Care Foundation and Aktion Deutschland Hilft.
Yours Klaudia Skodnik and the Fortuna helps team
