Watercolour course for children at the Ahrweiler painting circus

Last Tuesday, an exciting watercolour course for children took place at Malzirkus Ahrweiler, led by art therapist Steffi Raths. The children experimented with watercolours and cloths to create beautiful clouds and learned about the wet-on-wet technique. Particular emphasis was placed on the mindful use of colours, which made the course a valuable art therapy experience. Such courses offer the children more than just creative development, but also a way of expressing their feelings and thoughts.
Steffi explains: "In a watercolour course for children, which focused on the theme of "fair weather clouds and landscape", not only were artistic skills encouraged, but the joy of creative work was also awakened. From an art therapy perspective, painting clouds with water and cloths not only serves to develop fine motor skills, but also emotional expressiveness. The joy of their own creative endeavours had a motivating and strengthening effect. During the break, cold drinks provided welcome refreshment and the opportunity to exchange ideas and gather new energy for the continuation of the artistic process. This approach not only promotes artistic development, but also supports the children's personal and social development."
Thank you very much, dear Steffi! 🧡
