"Despite the outdoor pool temperatures, the kids came to the Ahrweiler painting circus to make dream catchers.

After a short introduction, we got started with wrapping, knotting and decorating to our hearts' content. Each child was allowed to make their own individual dreamcatcher with colourful ribbons, beads and feathers.

Making dreamcatchers is a good opportunity to talk to children about bad dreams and fears. speak. They can share their own experiences and find solutions, and conversations quickly develop.

One child said to the other: "What's your worst nightmare?" The answer came quickly: "I'm sitting in the living room and the flood is coming."

This shows how deep the traces of the past still run, even in the very youngest children, and demonstrates all the more how important and valuable our protected space in the circus wagon is!

The mood quickly brightened up again because everyone agreed: now everyone has a dreamcatcher that catches the bad dreams and only lets the good dreams through.

Making dreamcatchers encourages creativity, imagination and dexterity, teaching children about self-efficacy and faith - because the dreamcatcher protects sleep if you believe in it and especially if you can make it to your own taste. With a home-made dreamcatcher, children can counteract their nightmares in their own creative way.
