Upcycling bottles from old to new
"The Ahrweiler Painting Circus was delighted to be able to offer another upcycling course under the direction of Viktoria Rico Gomez from Atelier Donnerblume.
Lanterns and vases were created from old jars and bottles using the macramé technique. The participants learnt various knots in the process.
The weaving and knotting was highly concentrated and focussed, with the aim of weaving a net that spans the vessels.
One participant told me a few days later that it didn't work out so well for her, but that she found the topic exciting.
So she tried to practise the knots again, but she couldn't quite get it into her head. When her husband came home, he asked what she was doing. And when he took a closer look, he smiled: "Oh, I used to do that at school!
So the memory was awakened and together they made even more beautiful specimens.
The participant was also happy that the knot in her head, which you sometimes have, had burst and she was very satisfied with her results.

It's often like that in life, some things take time, but you also have to put energy into them and then it gives you a good feeling.
With this in mind, I look forward to the next course and the participants."
