"First, we thought together about what "superpowers" the children have. It wasn't about any supernatural abilities, but about the children's real abilities and inclinations, such as loving animals, being able to think well, asserting themselves, swimming well, etc. We then sketched out ideas for what the actual design could look like. After the preliminary drawing, the children coloured in their silhouettes and collaged the surroundings and the inside of the figure with old magazines. The result was great superhero figures!
The children had never seen each other like this before.
Finally, we considered how the resulting images could help the children in everyday life, in situations where they feel powerless, helpless or helpless.
One boy said that he would put the picture on his bedside table because he is scared in the dark and always feels very exposed. In such situations, it can be very helpful to visualise yourself as a superhero and to feel your own superpowers within you.
