"Wonderful weather, 13 children in a great mood, 3 highly motivated carers and "Toni" our "Fortuna" dachshund, set off for the wildlife reserve in Hellenthal.

Everything was scouted out and marvelled at: how big an eagle really is and where the condor can be found when it is not here in the park.
Most of the children already knew that wild boar really do smell of Maggi. They were fed and stroked, but also understood that these animals are actually "wild animals" and therefore do not necessarily trust us humans and that it is better to approach them slowly and with calm movements if you want to feed them from your hand.
A warm nose snorting its way through the fence is always a wonderful experience, and not just for children. They are happy to put up with dirty hands.
After the first encounters with the alpaca family, Mr and Mrs Wild Boar and their young boar, the colourful hustle and bustle in the budgerigar & Co. bird house, a first break at the playground was of course a must, before continuing through the forest towards the wild horse, prairie & raccoon dog, past their neighbours, the huge and really pretty domestic pigs, to the red deer enclosure.
We stayed there a little longer to empty the remaining food bags and because they are simply fascinating and beautiful animals.
In line with the children's wishes, we were of course happy to do a second round of the playground at the end of our fantastic excursion.
After 4 hours, we handed over 13 happy, exhausted children full of stories to their parents.

We carers all agree: next time we'll definitely add another hour because it was so nice!"

Thank you very much, dear Malzirkus team.
