"The second part of the course was again attended by interested children who wanted to learn more about the magic of chemistry and physics and, as promised, I had brought new experiments with me.
For example, we let an egg that was actually far too big for the neck of the bottle magically move into the bottle. The children watched as the egg was slowly, but clearly recognisably, sucked into the previously heated bottle. Some of them were able to and was already very familiar with the subject of air pressure.
And then we had prepared a very special magic trick that is truly magical to watch. What do you think happens when ground pepper floats on a water surface and you tap the water surface with a finger that you have previously dipped in liquid soap?
That's right! The soap on your finger destroys the surface tension, the pepper virtually jumps aside and a hole appears as if by magic.
The children loved it so much that we repeated it quite often.

Just as fascinating and magical was the disappearance of ink and a sugar cube in a glass of water. While cold water takes a long time to dissolve the sugar, it happens super quickly in hot water and the ink is not visible for long - it disappears as if by magic.
The children - and me too, to be honest - were enthusiastic and curious and are already looking forward to the next course day with lots of new experiments."
