Creative family time: designing plaster hands together

The painting circus invited families to a creative time. Under the guidance of Steffi and Sarah, parents and children moulded impressions of each other's hands with plaster bandages. a process that required patience and at the same time strengthened trust in each other.
"The mutual application of the plaster bandages not only created an image of the hands, but also an intense moment of contact - hands met, felt the texture of the material and the warmth of the other person. The patience required to allow the plaster to harden emphasised the decelerated and conscious togetherness. The moment when the plaster moulds were carefully removed was just as exciting as the subsequent painting with acrylic paints. The small works of art tell stories: bright favourite colours, imaginative rainbow hands and even the odd humorous idea such as an "ice-cold hand". Every colour, every brushstroke brought out individual expressions, but the shared joy of doing and the loving togetherness was what made this afternoon so special.
The end result was not only a collection of unique memories, but also a conscious experience of how valuable time together is - an experience that resonates in each of the artworks created. An afternoon that touched hearts and hands at the same time." - Sarah Uessem
