Colourful Easter hustle and bustle in the painting circus - an experience that combines creativity and tradition in a wonderful way! To really get into the Easter spirit, we started a joint project: giant papier-mâché Easter eggs.
The first step was to make the pulp, guided by Steffi and Sarah.
"Kneading and moulding the papier-mâché mass offered the children an intensive haptic experience that not only trains motor skills, but also promotes calm and balance. The direct contact with the materials and the process of shaping are valuable experiences in which they can directly experience the properties and behaviour of the material.
Unfortunately, the damp weather threw a spanner in the works, as the papier-mâché eggs simply wouldn't dry. But our dedicated painting circus team quickly found a solution and so we spontaneously modelled alternatives out of plaster. This flexibility made the project all the more exciting and the children happily accepted the new challenge. At the same time, the children also learnt something important from this experience - they learnt that not everything always works out perfectly, but that there is always a solution!
The second part of the course was dedicated to colouring: Using brushes and bright colours, the children let their imaginations run wild and transformed the eggs into colourful works of art. Not only did everyone have a lot of fun while they were colouring, they were also super proud when their works of art took shape.
The exchange between the children was particularly enjoyable: Many shared their ideas and experiences of colouring Easter eggs at home. Working together and the cheerful atmosphere strengthened the sense of community and increased the anticipation of Easter!" - Sarah Uessem
