Together with mum, dad, grandma or grandpa, the children trundled into the painting circus to create beautiful mosaic lanterns! "This was real teamwork While the children glued the coloured stones onto the glasses, the adults took over the subsequent grouting. Every step of the work was accompanied by mutual help and loving cooperation, which meant that the creative work not only strengthened the imagination, but also family cohesion.
We have used plastic mosaic tiles that are suitable for children and have no sharp edges. Working with tesserae is a calming activity, as the various steps - selecting the tiles, arranging them, carefully gluing and grouting - require time and concentration. These processes not only promote creativity, but also inner peace. The bright colours and clear patterns of the mosaic stones appeal to the senses and bring structure to the creative process. This can help to promote emotional equilibrium and inner balance.
Through the creative process, the children were not only able to develop their imagination, but also develop a playful approach to mindfulness, as did the adults! It was a very enjoyable afternoon, where young and old had a lot of fun!
Especially in our fast-paced everyday lives, it is of great importance to experience conscious family time. Working creatively together not only strengthens the bond between parents and children, but also promotes the emotional well-being of everyone involved.
Moments like these create memories that last far beyond the afternoon." - Sarah Uessem
The veil of grout is only removed after drying - and then your lanterns will shine throughout Ahrweiler.
Thank you very much, dear Sarah.
