"The heat really demanded a lot from the Ahrtal kids, and it became clear how vulnerable and insecure they still are. To help both the kids and the In order to do justice to the horses, we have adapted our daily routine so that activities do not take place during the hottest part of the day. This has upset some of them so much that old coping strategies have come to the fore. Our new employee is also still in the process of gaining the kids' trust, which of course made the situation even more challenging. It was a huge task to absorb the many emotions, sort them out and give the children support.
I gave them a small task to get everyone moving again. As soon as the children became active, the group dynamic slowly returned.
Together, we found pedagogical compromises that restored a sense of security.
I am particularly pleased with how confidently the children are already travelling between the horses in confined spaces. That shows how much trust and confidence they have built up with the horses."
