During the tape art course at the Malzirkus, the children discovered an exciting technique: "First, various surfaces are taped onto canvas cardboard using adhesive tape - so geometric patterns appear as if by magic. The children were free to decide how many areas they wanted to create. After carefully sticking them on, they checked together whether everything was sticking well so that no colour would run underneath later.
Then the colourful part began: the children could paint, dab or blot to their heart's content, the tape reliably protects the covered areas - a creative method that works simply and guarantees great results. There was great enthusiasm when the tape was peeled off: clear lines, bright colours and surprising patterns conjured up bright eyes and proud faces.
The course had even more to offer than creative technique: the relaxed and appreciative atmosphere created a protected space in which the children could not only develop artistically, but also be themselves.
Lively conversations developed while painting - about holidays, family, school or even serious topics such as separation. The children quickly realised: I am not alone with my thoughts and feelings. Working together creatively created a bond, understanding and a strengthening atmosphere. The course was also a creative door opener for dialogue, self-confidence and social interaction." - Sarah Uessem
