"We were guests in the beautiful wine village of Rech. Jutta Knieps gave us a warm welcome in the container on the Burgwiese! In the family team, young and old were able to and learn about the exciting technique of batik! Even local mayor Thomas Walter Hostert didn't miss the opportunity to stop by and watch the colourful goings-on. Thank you very much!
Despite the rainy weather, there was a great atmosphere: under the guidance of Steffi Raths and Sarah Uessem, bright summery batik creations were created. The teams worked hand in hand - knotting, dyeing and supporting each other. Our creative visitors brought all kinds of textiles with them: T-shirts, socks, bags and even a pair of sports trousers were artfully dyed! Batik is more than just a creative hobby - it also has a relaxing, almost meditative effect. The choice of colours, the repetition of patterns and the playful random element encourage mindfulness and can help to reduce stress. And the best thing about it? Each piece is unique, just like its creator. Creativity and community were at the centre of this special afternoon - accompanied by delicious waffles on a stick, lovingly prepared by Natalie and myself.
It was a great afternoon in Rech, we'd love to come back!"
