"Under the guidance of Barbara and me, the children made sparkling sun catchers in the painting circus.
Working with iron-on beads is not only fun, but also has a calming and decelerating effect. It requires sensitivity and attention, and this is where the special effect lies. The children were completely focussed and relaxed.
Each step built on the previous one, giving structure and inner clarity. The precise placement of the beads promotes dexterity and has an almost meditative effect.
Together with tracing paper and shimmering beads, they created many colourful sun catchers that the children were visibly proud of.
When the finished work of art glistens in the sunlight, it is not only beautiful, but also an expression of their self-efficacy - the children experience: "I made this." This strengthens their confidence in their own creativity.
Summer can stay here for a while longer!"
