My heart belongs to me!

„Insults and constant teasing are unfortunately commonplace in schools. This is not pleasant for the children affected, and sometimes it can lead to In severe cases, school anxiety may also occur.
How about if I could protect my heart so that the other person's words cannot hurt me and just bounce off me, so to speak? 🤔 Because one thing is certain: this has nothing to do with me, because it is not me but the other person who is suffering! That was precisely the topic of discussion with the children that afternoon.
After reflecting on their day with Theo the talking monkey, playing a cooperative puzzle game and doing a strengthening exercise in body awareness, the children first learned about the „superhero posture“, a powerful signal both internally and externally. They imagined that the „troublemaker“ chewed all his feelings and thoughts into a piece of chewing gum. It was immediately clear to everyone that these could only be bad feelings. Correct! „And do you really want to accept this chewing gum?“ Nooooo! Great! 👍🏻 Then he can keep them, all those silly feelings and thoughts. Because we only want to feel good in our superhero hearts!
So how important is it that we understand: My heart belongs to me! And I decide what happens to it. 💪🏻 The following imagination exercise gave the children the opportunity to create their own individual protection for their hearts. Whether it was a rainbow, a protective shield or a soap bubble ball... anything goes when it comes to protecting your heart. They were then allowed to express this inner work as a picture and thus an additional anchor on a small canvas and present it to the group.
Once again, some fantastic ideas have emerged that highlight how important working with children is in terms of setting boundaries, developing the ability to act and building inner strength.“ ❤️ – Gaby Hammer
