Design your own soapstone amulets

After everyone had chosen their own stone, the design of the personalised amulets began. The basic shape was created with coarse files. Then they continued step by step with increasingly fine sandpaper, each at their own pace, according to their taste and feeling.

Wet cutting brought out the shine, and a drop of olive oil made the colours of the stones really glow.

Every stone is a small miracle. It only reveals its true beauty when you engage with it with patience, attentiveness and devotion.

Some took a very cautious approach, others dared to make bold cuts - and still others realised that letting go is sometimes the hardest but most beautiful part of the process.
