„Zentangle has its origins in „telephone scribbling“ and means something like meditative chaos. Patterns are created with black fineliners, freely, according to one's own grid or objectively. This time, watercolour was added: first, colourful areas were painted, which were then filled with fine lines and patterns. This resulted in exciting pictures - many participants discovered animals or other figures in the coloured areas.
One participant even brought her own glass fountain pen, which she had always wanted to try out - it was perfect for the fine lines. During the course, it became very quiet from time to time. You could feel the concentration growing and a relaxed atmosphere developing at the same time. „I felt the Zen!“ was just one of the responses.
Zentangle calms through the repetition of the patterns and promotes concentration. Watercolours stimulate the imagination because the shapes emerge freely and invite discovery. Together, the two techniques create a relaxed, creative atmosphere in which you can calm down and at the same time playfully experience new impulses.“
