For many of the participants, working with texture paste was a completely new experience. The coarse paste can either be applied on its own or mixed with acrylic paint.
It's not about perfection, but about trying things out and letting go.
It quickly became apparent that the paste has its own peculiarities: it is not easy to control and requires some practice. So there was a lot of experimentation - some things succeeded, others were discarded.
One participant even brought along an old canvas that she wanted to paint over and dared to create a large-format picture.
Such individual experiments made the course lively and open. Many found working with the paste calming and liberating: just switch off your head and get on with it.
Haptics in particular played an important role.
The grainy, sometimes rough surface invites you to feel it. When applying it, you can feel resistance, movement and your own strength - the material reacts directly to your hand.
This creates closeness to your own actions and an intense experience in the moment.
A relaxed, pleasant atmosphere developed in the group. A big thank you also goes to our trainee Karl Gailer for his support.“
