„In the painting circus, we ventured into the exciting technique of salt painting.
The children came curiously into the circus wagon and listened attentively to my instructions, because for many of them this way of painting was completely new.
Even painting with glue felt special to the children: The thick, shiny lines that slowly glide over the paper immediately made them want to try it out. The drawing is then sprinkled thickly with salt.
After a short drying time, the excess salt is shaken off and then the real magic begins: the children carefully dab the salt lines with watercolours. The salt absorbs the paint immediately and creates bright, flowing colour gradients. The children were amazed at how vividly the colours moved across the paper. The black paper also inspired them: What shines particularly well on it? This resulted in ice crystals, birthday cakes, fireworks and many other imaginative motifs.
The children not only had great fun, but were sometimes really engrossed in their work.
Trying out new materials, feeling the different surfaces and observing the colour reactions had a calming effect, strengthened confidence in their own hands and awakened curiosity and creativity - the time flew by.“
