How can you tell if your cat is stressed?

Cats are often very good at hiding stress - but their body language still sends clear signals that you should pay closer attention to.
Pay attention to, for example:
🫣 Frequent hiding or withdrawal
😼 Tense posture, large pupils
🧼 Uncleanliness or increased cleaning
If you notice something like this, one thing above all else will help: calm, safe retreats and loving, patient handling of your pet. Thinking about what may have changed in the house or flat can also help to recognise stress factors.
👉🏻 Important: If changes persist, a vet should always take a look - physical causes and mental well-being are closely linked.
