The painting circus was full of embroidery and embroidery! The children set to work with great curiosity and learnt how to use a needle, thread and cardboard.
„In the beginning, we pricked simple shapes into the cardboard: stars, hearts, rainbows or our own initial letters. Point by point, we created individual embroidery patterns. The holes were then embroidered with colourful wool.
For some children, working with needle and thread was not so easy at first. Some were unsure or still needed a little support.
But with every stitch they became braver and more confident.
Embroidery requires patience and calm, and that was exactly what the children needed. They were able to concentrate, work at their own pace and see how a beautiful piece of work was created from many small dots. At the end, they were allowed to decorate their work - with feathers, beads or other materials. Each child decided for themselves what they wanted their artwork to look like. The results were colourful, varied and very creative.
The children quickly realised that with a little practice you become more and more confident and that you can make really beautiful things with self-confidence and courage. It was nice to see how proud they were of their own creations at the end and how good it felt to have achieved something that they perhaps didn't think they could do at first.“
