A creative and colourful way to welcome spring!

„In keeping with the long-awaited sunshine, we made little spring wreaths out of egg cartons at the painting circus. 🌼
The children were immediately enthusiastic and cut small flowers out of the nondescript cardboard boxes and tried out how everything could fit together. This resulted in very different ideas - some flowers were put together, others were arranged individually. 🌺
It got really colourful when painting with acrylic paints: the children chose their favourite colours 🎨 They mixed, tried things out and took their time until every flower looked exactly as they had imagined. In this quiet, concentrated work, they were able to experience how good it feels to create something with their own hands, to make decisions and to see how something beautiful grows from many small steps. Some children seemed really absorbed, others exchanged ideas and gave each other tips. 🧑‍🎨
We were accompanied by an important thought: you don't have to throw everything away straight away. Things that seem worthless at first glance can be turned into something beautiful. The children discovered how exciting it is to look at materials in a new way and give them a second life. This made the process not only creative, but also conscious and playfully sustainable. ♻️
At the end, they all held their own spring wreaths in their hands - each piece a small one-off that shows how much imagination, patience and joy the children have.“ 🌸 - Sarah Uessem
