Beastly good Time out

near the Baltic Sea

Near the Baltic Sea, children affected by the flood disaster at Hof Gutow enjoy a carefree time together with the horses and other animals. Jessica Schroth is a trained therapist for animal-assisted therapy. She has been working with children, young people and adults for many years.

How does riding therapy help?

Children in particular benefit from the Equine therapy (animal-assisted intervention), as they find it particularly difficult to talk about feelings and events. Here, with the help of specialised staff, we can help children and young people to work through their experiences and Children*souls "wings" again lend.

The Animal-assisted intervention Helps with: Post-traumatic stress disorders, concentration problems, learning difficulties, psychological problems (eating disorders, depression, stress, etc.), lack of self-esteem and self-confidence, difficulties with gross and fine motor skills, poor posture, aggression, coping with loss, anxiety

Jessica Schroth

Qualified equine therapist specialising in psychosocial support, conflict resolution, physical mobility, horse breeder/keeper. Youth leader.

Jessica has been accompanying and supporting children, young people and adults (including those with mental and physical disabilities) with a lot of heart and experience for many years.

On your farm there are many furry hearts - horses, cows, sheep, dogs and cats that are familiar with children and enjoy being around you. The horses are specially trained for therapy. The farm is also only 8 minutes by car from the Baltic Sea and you can also find relaxation there.

What your child can look forward to

The time-out is for you free of charge. Children can also take part unaccompanied of the parents at the age of: 5 years - 15 years (younger children by arrangement and only when accompanied by their parents).

Procedure:

Mon-Sat : 6 days (Monday 9:00 am - Saturday 11.00 am) - Final overnight stay Friday to Saturday

  • Participation is designed for one week. Participation begins on Monday at 9.00 am and ends on Saturday at 11.00 am. Arrival is Saturday or Sunday.
  • Here your child can stay overnight on the farm with full board in the care of Jessica Schroth, or you can bring your child there daily at 9.00 am and pick them up again at 4.00 pm.
  • A barbecue is planned for everyone on Friday afternoon/evening (with parents) and the children will then be picked up on Saturday at 11.00 am.
  • In small groups of up to 5 children, the children are divided into the following age groups: 5-10 years; 10-13 years; 13-15 years. This ensures that every child feels at home in the group and that we can look after each child individually.

What you can look forward to

If you accompany your child, you can look forward to a special break in the midst of nature and very close to the sea. Recharge your batteries and "take a deep breath" together with your child. Your child will experience an enriching week through the animal-assisted intervention with Jessica, while you organise your own free time.

Your support HELPS

The flood disaster has deep traces and especially Children need Support NOW.

The stresses and strains of the last few months have taken their toll and the prospect of time out is not possible for many of those affected and helpers. Financial resources have been completely exhausted due to the flood and so travelling is not possible for most of them.
